Automobili Lamborghini announced an effort in its decarbonization action plan with a new and ambitious goal, supported by the largest investment in the company’s history.

In this way, the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand announced a new objective, which involves reducing CO2 emissions per vehicle by 40% throughout the value chain by 2030 (compared to 2021). To achieve this, the strategy encompasses the entire company, from production to the supply chain and logistics, through the product utilization phase, covering the entire lifecycle, and involving the entire company in a collective commitment to achieve the emissions reduction goal.

The program called “Direzione Cor Tauri,” presented for the first time in 2021, marks the start of a deep and permanent investigation of the opportunities and challenges posed by electrification, which resulted in the start of the hybridization phase in 2023, with the launch of the Revuelto, the first High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) supercar.

For this year, the electrification process of the Italian brand will be expanded with the launch of the first hybrid version of the Urus SUV, and the second HPEV in the range, which will replace the Huracán. The launch of the first 100% electric Lamborghini model is planned for 2028, followed by the first fully electric SUV, which the company aims to release in 2029. In this way, the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand aims to achieve a significant reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030.

“Direzione Cor Tauri is our framework for the electrification of the Lamborghini range and the path towards decarbonization, not only of our Sant’Agata Bolognese facilities, but of the entire value chain: it is a holistic approach to our global environmental sustainability strategy,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.
