Kyle Larson expressed mixed emotions about his performance in Nashville. The Hendrick Motorsports star driver had high hopes of securing his fourth win of the season. However, a series of incidents in the second half of the race, resulting in five overtime restarts, left him disappointed. In the end, he finished in eighth place, a result that fell short of his own standards.

Reflecting on the chaotic race, Larson acknowledged the absolute madness that unfolded. He highlighted the fuel shortage experienced by several cars, including his own HMS No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, as a contributing factor to the chaos.

During the overtime, Larson was involved in two incidents that caused yellow flags. The first occurred during the first restart, when he made contact with another driver, resulting in a crash. The second incident happened when he failed to execute a proper start, hitting the driver in fourth place behind him and ruining his race.

Expanding on these points, Larson explained how he inadvertently caused Chastain’s accident by finding himself in a difficult situation. Additionally, he admitted that running out of fuel led to another accident. Despite these setbacks, he emphasized that a successful restart at the end helped salvage a positive result.

Looking ahead, the HMS driver aims to bounce back from the disappointments he faced on Sunday. With seven weeks of racing remaining before the playoffs begin, Larson is eager to secure at least one more victory. Doing so would position him favorably to contend for the championship title.
