Kyle Busch did not finish the race at Gateway due to a collision with Kyle Larson. Both drivers from Hendrick Motorsports and Richard Childress Racing had high hopes for the Enjoy Illinois 300, but unfortunately, their races were ruined by the incident.
During the second stage, Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch engaged in a fierce battle on the track. In an attempt to pass Chevy No:8, Chevy No:5 made a bold move, but ended up making contact with Busch’s car. This caused both cars to spin and resulted in significant damage to Busch’s vehicle.
The team radio captured Larson and his team expressing their frustration and blaming Busch for the accident. Larson claimed that Busch turned up into him and his team agreed, calling Busch a complete idiot. Despite suffering a flat tire, Larson managed to continue racing and finished in 10th place.
During the race at Gateway, Larson also discussed the delay in his waiver for missing the Coke 600 due to rain. He expressed confusion about the situation and questioned why there was such a delay. Larson even suggested that NASCAR may need to review its rules to accommodate him and grant him a waiver.
The controversy surrounding Larson’s waiver is expected to continue, with debates on whether he truly deserves it and if granting it would set a precedent that NASCAR may not want.
