In a dramatic turn of events, Kyle Kirkwood is gearing up for a high-stakes weekend in Long Beach, aiming to boost his title chances in the cutthroat world of IndyCar racing. With the pressure mounting, Kirkwood is determined to close in on points leader Alex Palou, who has been dominating the 2025 season so far with two consecutive wins.

Despite finishing fifth and eighth in the previous races, Kirkwood is feeling the heat as Palou continues to extend his lead in the championship standings. The Florida-native knows that a strong performance in Long Beach is crucial to narrowing the gap and staying in contention for the title.

“We’ve got to win races,” Kirkwood declared, emphasizing the importance of not letting Palou run away with the championship. “This is a very crucial weekend for us to turn things around in the championship hunt,” he added, highlighting the significance of the upcoming races.

Having clinched his first IndyCar victory in Long Beach back in 2023, Kirkwood is no stranger to success on the challenging street circuit. However, with Palou’s formidable track record and consistent performance, Kirkwood acknowledges the tough competition ahead.

As Kirkwood prepares to battle it out on the streets of Long Beach once again, all eyes are on him to deliver a stellar performance and challenge Palou’s dominance. With a new main sponsor backing him, Kirkwood is ready to push himself to the limit in pursuit of victory.

The anticipation is building for the 50th running of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, with fans eagerly awaiting the showdown between Kirkwood and Palou. The action-packed weekend will feature the IMSA event on Saturday, April 12, followed by the adrenaline-pumping IndyCar race on Sunday afternoon.

Stay tuned as Kirkwood revs up for a make-or-break weekend that could shape the course of the IndyCar championship.
