Kyle Busch discloses that the Next-Gen car caused him to injure his wrist during the Brickyard 400

Kyle Busch has confirmed that he sustained an injury to his hand prior to the Olympics break in Indianapolis, but he is now fully recovered and ready to race again.

The 2024 season has been a major disappointment for the two-time Cup champion. He had hoped to redeem himself after a significant drop in performance during the second half of the 2023 season, but he has yet to win a single race this season and desperately needs a victory to secure his place in the playoffs.

Fortunately, things could have been much worse for Kyle Busch if it weren’t for the two-week Olympics break. Prior to the Richmond Cup race, he revealed that he sprained his left wrist at the Brickyard 400. He arrived at Richmond with his wrist wrapped, and without the break for recovery, he would have had to miss multiple races due to the injury.

The veteran driver appears to have fully recovered from the injury and is confident in his current condition. There is no chance of him missing the race on Sunday, as RCR does not have a backup driver for the No. 8 Chevy. Busch hopes that any remaining pain will not hinder his performance in the Cookout 400.

When discussing his 2024 season, Kyle Busch acknowledged that it has been a heartbreaking year for him, particularly at Chicago. With all the other things happening in his life, he has found it difficult to cope with the drama surrounding racing.

The veteran driver is hopeful for a comeback starting this week at Richmond, and it will be interesting to see how the rest of the 2024 season unfolds for him. The NASCAR community is eager to see him back at the front of the pack, but much will depend on the productivity of team RCR and their cars.
