The KÜS Team Bernhard’s project in the DTM ends after only two seasons. The team introduced Thomas Preining to the championship, with the driver being the author of the first Porsche victory at Norisring last year.

With the Austrian leaving for Manthey EMA (where he would become champion in 2023), Timo Bernhard’s team bet on Ayhancan Güven and Laurin Heinrich for the season that ended in October. However, the results were far from identical, despite still managing to achieve three podiums. The exit from the DTM comes in the context of the team’s repositioning, which will continue to be involved in one-make trophies such as the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup or the Porsche Sports Cup, as well as karting.

Bernhard justified the decision in a statement: ‘The DTM was an immense step for our family-managed team. For me, it also meant the utmost commitment. Finding the right balance between leading the team and my duties as a Porsche brand ambassador was a great challenge – both tasks require my full concentration. My responsibility to the team and the people is very important to me. In addition, it is currently not possible to present the necessary budget to meet my high standards for the DTM project. That is why we decided to take this step, which is difficult for us’.
