Krack: Últimas notícias de Imola na F1 em ritmo acelerado

Aston Martin de Lawrence Stroll has underperformed this Formula 1 season. Last year, the team was in a strong position in the F1 hierarchy, with Fernando Alonso achieving numerous podium finishes. However, this year, Alonso has yet to secure a single podium place.

According to StatsF1, after six races in 2023, Alonso was in third place in the F1 driver standings, accumulating a total of 93 points. In contrast, this year he has only managed to score 33 points, placing him in eighth position. As for Lance Stroll, he was in eighth place last year, with 27 points after six Grand Prix weekends. This year, he is in eleventh place, with only nine points.

Essentially, Lawrence Stroll’s Aston Martin team has regressed. Twelve months ago, they were in second place in the F1 Constructors’ Championship, having scored a total of 120 points. This year, they are in fifth place, with 42 points.

In a statement released by the team, Krack tried to explain the drop with a summary of their performance in the first quarter of the season: “The first months of this season have been quite turbulent. In terms of performance, we are on track with our expectations. We have closed the gap to the front, but the competition is extremely fierce and the field is very competitive.

“Before this year, we anticipated being the fifth fastest team, and that is where we often find ourselves during races. In qualifying, we have often been the third fastest team, which is a positive sign. We are working diligently on developing the car to ensure that we can capitalize on our strong performance in a single lap.

“I am proud of how the team, both on track and at the AMR Technology Campus, has handled the recent overseas races. For those who attended the races, we traveled long distances, both east and west, almost every two weeks. Adjusting to time zones has been one of the biggest challenges early in this season.”

“Operationally, we have been exceptionally strong. Our pit stops have been consistently quick and we have not lost track time due to operational issues. As a team, we have executed our plans effectively throughout the season, and this is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at the Campus and on the track.”

Looking ahead to the upcoming weekend in Imola, the Grand Prix event that was canceled last year due to devastating floods in the region, Krack stated: “As part of our ongoing development during the season, we will be introducing an upgrade in Imola. This upgrade aims to address several areas of improvement that we have identified. However, it is important to emphasize that progress in Formula 1 is constant, and our competitors will also be bringing new parts to the race.”

Krack emphasized the team’s focus on themselves and their ongoing efforts to close the gap to the front. He praised the hard work and dedication of everyone on the team, highlighting the upcoming upgrade as a testament to their tireless efforts.

With seven races scheduled before the summer break, including Imola, Krack expressed excitement about the busy race schedule. He acknowledged the challenges that drivers and engineers face in optimizing the setup in Imola, a circuit known for testing their skills.

Reflecting on the cancellation of the previous year due to floods, Krack expressed anticipation to return to the iconic Imola circuit and provide a great spectacle for the fans. He also mentioned the increasing presence of green in the stands, showing the growing support for the sport in Italy.

Recalling memorable moments in Imola, Krack mentioned Fernando Alonso’s exciting battles with Michael Schumacher in 2005 and 2006. He also acknowledged the tragic loss of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger in 1994, emphasizing that the F1 community will come together to remember and pay tribute to them.

As for the action on track, Krack highlighted the excitement surrounding the race, as Imola often offers a great show. He mentioned that Pirelli is bringing softer tires this weekend, which could lead to interesting strategy choices. Scoring points remains the team’s main goal, and they will focus on maintaining their good performance in qualifying and turning it into a solid result in the race.

Krack acknowledged the limited overtaking opportunities in Imola, emphasizing the importance of track position in such a competitive field. As the 31st edition of the Grand Prix in Imola, the race holds historical significance, previously known as the San Marino GP and now referred to as the Gran Premio dell’Emilia Romagna in recent years.
