Koenigsegg continues to demonstrate that the Jesko is one of its most radical track models, thanks to its 1,600 horsepower and 1,500 Nm of torque produced by the twin-turbo V8 engine.
In addition to a powerful engine, the Jesko also utilizes advanced aerodynamics, so it is no surprise that the Swedish supercar achieves several records for fastest lap times.
The latest record was set on a Swedish track, where the Koenigsegg Jesko once again showcased its power by completing a lap of the 7.3 km Gotland Ring circuit in 2 minutes and 56.97 seconds, which is about eight seconds faster than the previous record set by a Porsche 911 GT3 RS MR.
According to the Swedish brand, test driver Niklas Lilja was behind the wheel of an “Attack” specification Jesko for this record, which means that the track model was equipped with aerodynamics designed to generate greater grip in corners, instead of an “Absolut” specification, which prioritizes stability by reducing drag for maximum speed.
Koenigsegg also revealed that the Jesko used 93-octane gasoline instead of E85, which allows for greater power. The video released by the brand shows how the Jesko reaches a speed of 288 km/h during the fast lap.
