In a groundbreaking move, Australian driver Jack Perkins is gearing up to make his mark in the NASCAR world, following the footsteps of his fellow Supercars drivers. Perkins, with over 150 Supercars starts under his belt, is set to become the fifth Supercars driver to debut in NASCAR, joining the likes of Shane van Gisbergen, Brodie Kostecki, Will Brown, and Cam Waters.

Expressing his exhilaration, Perkins shared his excitement about driving in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Joe Gibbs Racing. This opportunity has been a long-held dream for Perkins, who reflected on his journey towards this significant milestone. With the support of legendary Coach Gibbs and JGR, Perkins is ready to seize this once-in-a-lifetime chance.

The upcoming race at Portland International Raceway on August 30 will see Perkins behind the wheel of the #19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota in the Xfinity Series. With 75 laps of intense road course racing ahead, Perkins is poised to showcase his skills on the track and make a memorable debut in the NASCAR realm.

The stage is set for Perkins to shine as he follows his passion for NASCAR, a dream that took root during his visit to the U.S. in 2008. With unwavering determination and support from his racing peers like James Small, Perkins is all set to make a lasting impression in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Meanwhile, in the world of NASCAR, Shane van Gisbergen, known for his road course prowess, recently made waves by securing the pole position for the NASCAR All-Star Open at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Despite his struggles in the Cup Series, van Gisbergen’s achievement marked a significant milestone in his racing career.

Van Gisbergen expressed a sense of relief and accomplishment after clinching the pole position, highlighting the challenges he faced in oval track qualifying. Although he fell short of securing a spot in the All-Star Race, van Gisbergen’s performance underscored his potential and determination on the track.

As van Gisbergen continues to navigate his rookie season in the Cup Series, his journey is filled with ups and downs, with the recent pole position serving as a testament to his skills behind the wheel. With his eyes set on future races and opportunities, van Gisbergen remains a force to be reckoned with in the NASCAR arena.
