Young prodigy Andrea Kimi Antonelli faced a challenging weekend at Imola, where the pressure of performing in front of his home crowd seemed to have a negative impact on his race. The 18-year-old rising star, who had been impressing in previous races, including securing a pole position in Miami, struggled at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.

Despite a disappointing qualifying session that saw him starting in 13th place, Antonelli fought his way up into the points during the race. However, his efforts were thwarted by a throttle issue that eventually forced him to retire, marking his first Did Not Finish (DNF) of the season.

Reflecting on the race, Antonelli acknowledged the challenges he faced, admitting that the pressure of performing in front of Italian fans affected his performance. He described it as a valuable lesson and emphasized the need to manage his energy better in such situations in the future.

The young driver also highlighted the importance of addressing technical issues, such as the throttle problem he encountered during the race. Antonelli expressed the need to work on his driving skills, particularly focusing on improving his race pace, especially in hot conditions.

Looking ahead, Antonelli remains determined to bounce back stronger at the upcoming races, with a focus on Monaco before returning to his home turf in Monza. Despite the setbacks faced at Imola, the talented driver is eager to learn from the experience and showcase his potential in the races to come.
