Kia quer reforçar as vendas de veículos eletrificados na Europa

Kia remains committed to being one of the best-selling brands in Europe, and for that it is determined to maintain the growth path it has experienced in the last eight years, during which it grew by 56% in sales, to reach an annual volume of 800,000 units by 2028, of which 85% will be electrified vehicles. With this goal, Kia aims to achieve a market share of 5%.

It should be noted that the South Korean brand achieved a sales record in Europe in 2023, with 572,297 units sold and a market share of 4.5% in the passenger vehicle segment. Sales of electrified models exceeded 217,000 units, representing 37.9% of total sales.

At an event with dealers held in Berlin, Germany, the brand recalled that the strategy for the coming years “involves meeting demand through the expansion of its charging station network and continuing to provide new electric models with ultra-fast charging capability, alongside the electrification of other popular models”.

In addition, the brand believes that fully connected vehicles offer the benefit of continuously meeting usage expectations, benefiting from remote updates (OTA) and functionalities available in the Kia Connect Store, while the introduction of more innovative technologies, such as bidirectional charging – “V2G” (Vehicle to Grid), “V2L” (Vehicle to Load) and “V2H” (Vehicle to Home) – promises to add value to the customer experience, according to Kia.

Simultaneously, Kia believes that the future also lies in the business of PBV professional vehicles (Platform Beyond Vehicle), a solution already presented by the South Korean brand, of total mobility that combines customized electric vehicles with advanced software solutions, with the first model expected to hit the market in 2025.

This new concept of vehicle is set to establish, according to Kia, “new benchmarks for future mobility, along with an intelligent approach to customer needs. Just like with the EV3 and the EV9, all electric models to be launched by the brand in the future will necessarily include 10 sustainable items, developed from recycled materials, of biological origin and without chemical substances”.

“As a result of a profound transformation process, Kia is at the forefront when it comes to providing sustainable mobility solutions, reinforcing our position in the industry of the future”, stated Marc Hedrich, President and CEO of Kia Europe.

Thus, Kia continues to pave the way to becoming a 100% electric brand by 2035.
