Kia apresenta o design exterior do novo PV5 antes da estreia

Kia has just unveiled the exterior design of the production version of the PV5, a model that will be offered in variants intended for passenger and cargo transport, and which will be presented on February 27 in Tarragona, Spain.

Initially showcased as a prototype at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024, the mid-sized PV5 is the first model to debut under Kia’s new global business strategy, Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV).

The contemporary design of the Kia PV5 brings a fresh aesthetic to traditional commercial vehicles, emphasizing flexibility and customization through a modular approach.

Its design is largely similar to the prototype presented at CES 2024, featuring a distinctive light signature with LED daytime running lights that extend down from the base of the windshield. The main headlights enhance the attractive modernity of the PV5, with black detailing, positioned on either side of the charging port.

From the profile view, the emphasis is on the large windows of the passenger version, which convey an image of a multi-purpose vehicle, offering a very airy and spacious feel. Notably, the bulky door handles and the side steps are connected to the SUV style of the Kia range, suggesting an all-terrain character that harmoniously links the superior technological aspect of the cabin with the more robust lower body. The elegant beveled line of the D-pillar extending to the rear enhances the vehicle’s sense of volume.

The rear section highlights the firm and modern presence of the PBV, while also projecting a natural functional and logical appearance, with vertical LED taillights and large doors.

“Although the PV5 is offered in three different body styles to provide innovative solutions for a wide variety of customer needs, all of them embody the same coherent design values inspired by Kia’s philosophy, ‘Opposites United’”, stated Karim Habib, Global Design Director at Kia. “Each variant confidently expresses a firm, bold, and futuristic character, as well as a presence that showcases its great capability”.
