The Kia EV9 was elected as the Women’s Car of the Year (WWCOTY), this Friday, International Women’s Day.
The choice of the Women’s Car of the Year, which has been taking place since 2009, was made by a panel composed exclusively of 75 female automotive journalists, including a Portuguese representative, who tested and evaluated all the candidate models.
“This year’s election was particularly difficult due to the excellent level of all the candidates. Each of the finalists showed enough merits to win the trophy. The Kia EV9 won over its rivals for being a vehicle capable of meeting the needs of consumers worldwide”, emphasized Marta García, executive president of WWCOTY.
Before the Women’s Car of the Year for 2024 was revealed, the models that won the five categories in this edition of the trophy were announced. Thus, the Volvo EX30 won the Family Car title, while the BMW 5 Series won in the Sedan of the Year category.
As for the Kia EV9, in addition to the most important title, it also won in the SUV category, while the VW Amarok dominated in the Pick-Up and 4×4 category, and the Aston Martin DB12 won the Exclusive Car of 2024 award.
