Kia EV3: novo SUV 100% elétrico chega com 600 km de autonomia

Kia revealed all the details of the new EV3 compact electric SUV on Thursday, which stands out for its bold design, innovative technology, and pioneering features, setting unprecedented standards in the segment.

The design of the new EV3 follows in line with the brand’s most recent models, with the new 100% electric model bearing a striking resemblance to the EV9.

The new compact SUV from the South Korean brand, like Kia’s electric models, was developed based on the E-GMP platform, and with a length of 4.30 meters, the EV3 emerges with a front section marked by vertical headlights positioned at the ends of a clean surface that contribute to the creation of a wide and ultra-confident stance.

The visual sensation is one of great volume, combined with distinct graphic elements and a muscular appearance that harmonizes with the entire body. A new and robust interpretation of Kia’s iconic “Tiger Face” design includes the “Star Map,” the brand’s latest lighting signature. Arranged vertically, the daytime running lights (DRL) further enhance this design.

From the side, the new 100% electric model stands out for its doors with extremely clean surfaces, despite the decorative motif on the sill, which is joined by square wheel arches.

At the rear, the wide black strip enhances the connection between the robust design of the C-pillar and the roofline, emphasizing the visual strength. The taillights, on the other hand, feature a simplified and geometric design, integrating with the sloping rear window.

Inside, the spacious cabin has the capacity to comfortably accommodate five people, in an environment similar to a living room, designed to be enjoyed during trips and while charging.

The EV3 is equipped with a screen of almost 30”, which includes a 12.3” instrument panel, a 5” screen for climate control, and a third 12.3-inch screen for the infotainment system. This large screen extends to the center of the dashboard, giving the front passenger access to entertainment and navigation features.

However, many of the EV3 functions, including driving mode, speed control, entertainment, and navigation, can be accessed and controlled through the buttons installed on the steering wheel. Additionally, a continuous row of buttons below the central screen allows access to various functions such as maps, multimedia, and vehicle system configuration.

The central console includes a sliding table and storage space. Along with adjustable ambient lighting and seats that Kia says provide high comfort and include a relaxation mode when folded, the sliding table allows passengers to better utilize the interior space. In terms of storage, the EV3 offers a trunk with a capacity of 460 liters, which can reach 1200 liters with the rear seats folded down. In the front, under the hood, there is a storage space with a capacity of 25 liters.

When it comes to motorization, the EV3 comes with a permanent magnet synchronous motor capable of delivering 204 hp of power, which in the base version is powered by a 58 kWh battery and in the Long Range variant uses an 81 kWh battery.

The South Korean brand announces a range of up to 600 km and the ability to charge from 10 to 80% in about 31 minutes. Both models use an electric motor of 150 kW/283 Nm, which allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. The maximum speed of the EV3 is 170 km/h.

Kia has announced that the new EV3 will be initially presented in Korea in July 2024, followed by the European launch in the second half of the year.
