Kevin Harvick acredita que a vitória de Chase Elliott no Texas é uma conquista significativa para a NASCAR.

The victory of Chase Elliott at Texas has provided significant exposure for NASCAR. Last weekend’s Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway marked the end of the Champion of the 2020 NASCAR Cup’s 42-race winless streak, with an impressive performance. He failed to secure any wins last season due to a snowboarding injury, which caused him to miss out on a playoff spot. However, he was determined to redeem himself in the 2024 season, and finally achieved it last Sunday.

The victory of Chevy No. 9 driver holds great importance for the sport, according to the 2014 Cup champion. He emphasized that it was crucial for everyone in NASCAR to witness Chase Elliott’s success once again. The former SHR driver also acknowledged the pressure that the Dawsonville native carried on his shoulders to deliver this season.

Harvick is not the only retired driver to recognize the importance of Elliott’s victory for NASCAR. Former driver Kyle Petty also stated that the No. 9 team’s win was exactly what the sport needed, as it provides them with greater exposure. This is mainly due to the fact that the HMS star is the most well-known and beloved driver among the passionate fan base.

The former champion praised Rick Hendrick for sticking with the same No. 9 team over the past two seasons, despite their poor performance. Many people called for the replacement of the team boss, but HMS had confidence in the team’s ability to bounce back and believed they just needed time.

Chase Elliott’s victory seems to be the beginning of many more wins to come, as the No. 9 team truly clinched their triumph last Sunday. He secured a playoff spot and reaffirmed himself as a championship contender after a long period of time.
