Kevin Estre’s Shocking Penalty Alters Nurburgring 24H Victory, Handing Win to Marciello

In a thrilling turn of events at the 2025 Nurburgring 24 Hours, a post-race penalty for an airborne crash has shaken up the final results, crowning a new champion. The #911 Manthey Porsche team seemed to have the victory in their grasp, with drivers Kevin Estre, Ayhancan Guven, and Thomas Preining putting on a strong performance throughout the race. However, a dramatic incident involving the #98 ROWE BMW and the Dorr Motorsport Aston Martin changed the course of the race.

As the tension escalated in the closing stages of the race, Estre found himself under pressure from the ROWE BMW driven by Kelvin van der Linde, Augusto Farfus, Jesse Krohn, and Raffaele Marciello. In a heart-stopping moment, Estre’s attempt to overtake the Aston Martin led to a collision that sent the car airborne and onto its roof, ultimately impacting the final outcome of the race.

The race stewards deliberated over the incident, leading to a significant penalty of 1 minute and 40 seconds for the Manthey Porsche team. Despite their protest, the penalty stood, paving the way for the ROWE BMW to claim victory. The decision marked BMW’s first win at the Nurburgring 24 Hours since 2020, a historic moment for drivers Marciello and Krohn.

The Manthey Porsche, initially crossing the finish line first, was relegated to second place after the penalty was applied. Meanwhile, the Dinamic Porsche secured third place, completing the podium lineup for the prestigious endurance race.

The high-stakes battle, filled with drama and controversy, kept fans on the edge of their seats until the very end. The Nurburgring 24 Hours once again proved why it is a pinnacle of endurance racing, where split-second decisions can make or break a team’s chances of victory.
