Kenny Wallace labels the current generation of NASCAR drivers as “lost”

Kenny Wallace, a prominent figure in the world of motorsport, has once again made a controversial statement. Wallace, who made his debut in the Cup Series in 1990, competed against some of NASCAR’s most esteemed drivers. However, he has observed a trend where fans and experts only seem to remember and celebrate drivers from before 2006. In light of this, Wallace boldly claimed that the current generation of NASCAR drivers is lost.

Throughout its history, the Cup Series has been a stage for legendary stock car racers. One such example is , who achieved a remarkable 200 race wins, a record that remains unmatched. It is worth noting that this accomplishment was accomplished during a time when safety was often compromised for the sake of performance. The current generation of drivers, who often consider 30-40 wins to be sufficient, are often astounded by these extraordinary statistics.

However, not everyone shares Wallace’s perspective. Another former driver, , disagrees with this notion and believes that the current generation of drivers is not lost compared to their predecessors.

Wallace’s statement caused a stir within the racing community, as current drivers were criticized despite their undeniable abilities. On the other hand, some fans agreed with Wallace and voiced their concerns about the changes implemented by the championship, which they believe have compromised the essence of the sport in favor of entertainment.

In recent news, Wallace made headlines by announcing his boycott of the Paris Olympics. Additionally, it has come to light that will be parting ways with Spire Motorsports. As a result, the team is now in search of a replacement for the 32-year-old driver, who will be leaving at the end of the 2024 season.

Despite the rumors, Wallace speculates that might leave RCR for a drive at SM. However, he acknowledges that the team would not easily let go of a star driver like Busch, as he is a favorite among fans.

Moreover, the No.8 driver boasts the highest number of wins among his competitors, currently totaling 63. He aims to increase this count in the upcoming races to secure a spot in the playoffs, as he currently sits in 18th place in the standings.
