For 14 years, Japan has hosted the largest global gathering of Renault Kangoo automobiles, and every year, thousands of Japanese people head to the base of Mount Fuji to share their passion for the well-known model from the French brand.
First launched in 1997, the Kangoo stands out for its practical and compact design in the Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment, largely due to its sliding side door and a set of interior solutions aimed at improving quality of life on board.
It is therefore not surprising that over its 25-year life, Renault has sold more than 4.4 million units of the Kangoo in 50 countries around the world, although the vast majority of models have been purchased for professional purposes.
Of all the countries that sell the Kangoo, Japan celebrates it in the most original way. Local madness for this car grew rapidly, and in 2009, fans decided to create a gathering to share their passion for the French automobile, bringing together as many fans of this practical model as possible.
The “Kangoo Jamboree,” now in its 14th edition, brought together over 5,000 visitors this year who admired the approximately 2,000 exhibited Kangoo models, but also witnessed the presentation of the new Renault Grand Kangoo and the new local limited series Urban Grey.
The launch of this new edition was officially announced by local authorities and by Heinz-Jürgen Löw, SVP of Renault VCL, Thierry Plantegenest, Sales and Marketing Director of Renault VCL, and Florent Pichereau, responsible for the launch of the Renault VCL Kangoo.
