Jorge Martin Cleared for High-Stakes MotoGP Qatar Return After Lengthy Injury Battle

Reigning MotoGP world champion, Jorge Martin, has been given the green light by MotoGP medical director Dr. Angel Charte to compete in the upcoming Qatar Grand Prix after recovering from a Supermoto accident earlier this year. This news comes as a relief for fans as Martin will be back on the track riding for Aprilia in the Free Practice 1 session. Despite missing the first three races of the season, Martin is now set to make his highly anticipated return.

The Spanish rider’s transition to the Aprilia team for the 2025 season has been tumultuous, with setbacks including a testing accident at Sepang and the Supermoto incident in Catalonia. These unfortunate events have severely limited Martin’s track time on his new bike, the Aprilia RS-GP.

While Martin has been cleared to participate in the entire Qatar Grand Prix weekend, he will undergo further checks to ensure his fitness for the races ahead. The rider himself has managed expectations for his comeback, acknowledging potential pain due to his injuries and the lack of time spent on the RS-GP so far.

Fans can expect an exciting reunion as Martin joins forces with his teammate, Marco Bezzecchi, for the first time in the upcoming races. The duo aims to establish a strong working relationship to push their team forward in the MotoGP standings.

Martin’s return to the track is sure to bring a surge of adrenaline to the Qatar Grand Prix, with spectators eager to see how the reigning champion will fare after his challenging start to the season.
