Joey Logano’s Super Bowl Snap With Tom Brady Sparks Reddit Backlash—Does He Belong in the Same League?

When NASCAR meets the NFL, sparks fly—but not always in a good way.

Joey Logano, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, thought he was simply sharing a cool Super Bowl moment with NFL legend Tom Brady. But what was meant to be a fun, harmless social media post quickly turned into a Reddit battleground, where fans ruthlessly debated whether Logano even belongs in the same conversation as the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

Logano’s now-infamous X (Twitter) post featured a photo of him and Brady before the big game, captioned:

“Game day chat w/ @TomBrady 🐐 #SuperBowl.”

But instead of a warm reception, the Reddit crowd took it upon themselves to humble the NASCAR star, questioning whether he has any business being mentioned in the same breath as Brady.

Redditors Show No Mercy—Did Logano Overstep?

Reddit has long been a brutally honest space where no celebrity is safe.

  • Jake Paul got dragged for calling himself the “future of boxing.”
  • Russell Wilson became a meme factory for his “Let’s Ride” slogan.
  • Jared Leto has entire threads roasting his acting choices.

Now, it was Joey Logano’s turn in the hot seat.

Many Redditors felt Logano’s NASCAR success doesn’t compare to Brady’s NFL dominance, with some even dismissing the crossover moment as “wishful thinking.”

“Let’s be real—Tom Brady is the undisputed GOAT of football. Logano is good, but he’s not even the best of his era in NASCAR.”

“Brady has seven Super Bowls. Logano has two championships. There’s a difference between ‘great’ and ‘GOAT.’”

“Did Logano just call himself NASCAR’s version of Brady? Because that’s… ambitious.”

Of course, not everyone was against Logano. Some defended him, arguing that comparing individual sports achievements across completely different disciplines is pointless.

“If Brady and Logano respect each other, why do we care? Different sports, different standards.”

“Logano isn’t NASCAR’s GOAT, but he’s got a Hall of Fame career. That counts for something.”

But in typical Reddit fashion, the majority used the post as an opportunity to debate Logano’s career, rather than celebrate the moment for what it was—a casual interaction between two champions.

Does Logano Deserve GOAT Status in NASCAR?

Let’s be clear: Joey Logano is an elite NASCAR driver. His résumé includes:

🏆 Two NASCAR Cup Series Championships (2018, 2022)
🏁 30+ Cup Series wins
📜 Youngest driver to ever win in Cup Series history
🏆 Daytona 500 Champion (2015)

But here’s the issue—he isn’t widely regarded as the “GOAT” of NASCAR. That title is still debated between Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt Sr., and Jimmie Johnson, who all far exceed Logano’s championship total.

For comparison:

  • Richard Petty – 7 titles, 200 wins
  • Dale Earnhardt Sr. – 7 titles, 76 wins
  • Jimmie Johnson – 7 titles, 83 wins

Logano’s success is undeniable, but he isn’t the definitive face of NASCAR like Brady was for the NFL.

And that’s exactly why Reddit erupted—because many felt Logano’s name should never be placed next to Brady’s in a GOAT conversation.

Brady vs. Logano—An Unfair Comparison?

At the end of the day, comparing athletes from different sports is always going to be unfair.

  • Brady played for 23 seasons, winning 7 Super Bowls and 3 MVP awards.
  • Logano is still actively competing, with 2 NASCAR championships and likely more wins ahead.

So while Logano may not be NASCAR’s Brady, he is still one of the most accomplished drivers of his generation.

But is that enough to warrant a seat next to the GOAT?

For now, Reddit says no.

Final Verdict—Did Logano Overstep, or Was Reddit Just Being Reddit?

Logano’s Super Bowl flex wasn’t meant to be controversial, but it opened the floodgates for NASCAR vs. NFL debates.

While some fans defended him, the majority felt his achievements weren’t GOAT-level, at least not compared to Brady’s dominance in football.

Whether fair or not, one thing is clear—the internet never forgets, and Reddit never holds back.

So, what do you think? Did Joey Logano deserve the backlash, or is he getting unfairly roasted?
