Joey Logano Reveals Strategy to Outpace Kyle Larson’s Natural Talent

In a recent interview, NASCAR Cup champion Joey Logano delved into his tactics for outshining Kyle Larson’s innate driving abilities on the racetrack. Speaking on the latest episode of Stacking Pennies, Logano acknowledged Larson’s exceptional talent for pushing his car to its limits, emphasizing the need for Logano to excel in other areas to secure victory over his formidable opponent.

“He’s got a ridiculous amount of natural talent though. He will drive that vehicle as fast as it can go. He’s really good at that. Yeah, right. And so I have to beat him on other things to beat him because if not, he’s just going to go faster than me. I gotta beat him on details. I got to beat him on the little stuff, the stuff that he won’t have the time to prep on. I that’s my only chance,” Logano revealed during the discussion.

Despite facing off against Larson’s standout performances, Logano managed to clinch the championship title last season after a challenging regular season with subpar stats compared to his competitors. With only seven top-five finishes and an average finish of 17.1, Logano’s victory was a testament to his strategic approach and resilience in the face of adversity.

Reflecting on his triumph over Larson, Logano expressed his acceptance of having to overcome obstacles to achieve success, drawing parallels to athletes in other sports who rely on skill and determination rather than sheer talent alone.

Looking ahead, Logano is gearing up for the upcoming Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway, currently standing ninth in the points standings with one win and two top-10 finishes in the season so far. With a victory at Texas under his belt this year and a previous win at the same venue, Logano is poised to defend his title and continue his momentum on the track.

Despite a recent setback at the Coca-Cola 600 where Logano finished in 17th place, the defending champion remains focused on his goal, showcasing resilience and determination in the face of challenges. As the racing season unfolds, fans can expect an intense battle between Logano and Larson as they strive for supremacy on the NASCAR circuit.
