NASCAR has dominated the motor sports market in the United States for decades. The battle between NASCAR and F1 for the American audience has been intense, with various sports personalities criticizing each sport over the years. In the latest addition to this ongoing rivalry, a Cup Series champion explained the differences between the two series and why stock car races are superior.

This week, NASCAR will host a race in the top class at COTA, the only track that stock car series and open wheel races share. Compared to F1, which averages about 50 overtakes throughout an entire race, NASCAR sees several lead changes in just one race. This has sparked discussions about the glaring disparities in terms of overtaking and entertainment between the two sports. Following the criticism of F1 by the aforementioned champion, Joey Logano shared his perspective on the matter.

Logano, 33, believes that NASCAR is a more versatile sport. He highlights the unconventional strategies employed in NASCAR and how yellow flags and strategic pauses add excitement to the race, something that F1 does not have. Logano also points out that, due to the nature of bumping and drafting in NASCAR, cars can withstand damage and aggressive driving from competitors.

The rise of online betting sites and apps has made it easier for motorsports fans and bettors to wager on race outcomes. This trend reached a record high after authorities in North Carolina legalized such activities. This announcement caused a frenzy in the world of motorsports, as fans now have the opportunity to bet on their favorite drivers and test their luck. The two-time Cup Series champion applauds this development, although the drivers themselves are prohibited from participating in gambling to ensure fair competition.

According to the Penske driver, responsible gambling does not harm anyone. In fact, it could attract a significant number of new fans to the sport who are interested in learning more about its complexities. This would create a mutually beneficial situation for both the sport and the fans.
