Joey Logano praises Brad Keselowski for his success at Richmond before the 2024 Cook Out 400.

Joey Logano, a driver who has won races at Richmond on two occasions, possesses a multitude of podium finishes. Since his debut in the series, Logano has consistently been at the forefront of the field. Throughout his career, he has had various teammates by his side, but one particular individual has played a significant role in his development as a driver. The 40-year-old has provided invaluable assistance to Logano, helping him find his rhythm at the Richmond Raceway.

The team that Logano is a part of has garnered favor among drivers due to their recent success in the sport. In recent seasons, their drivers, including Logano himself, have been crowned champions. However, there was a time when another driver led the team and secured his first championship in 2012. With his wealth of experience, this former driver, who was previously associated with the number 2 car, guided his young teammate in establishing his dominance at Richmond.

As a result, the 34-year-old Logano expressed his gratitude for the driving techniques he learned from his teammate, Keselowski. He emphasized that Richmond’s track surface experiences significant degradation, but with the assistance of his crew chief and teammate, he was able to master it. These valuable lessons were recently put into practice as Logano secured a second-place finish at the Richmond Raceway. Now, he aims to go one step further and claim victory at the upcoming Cook 400.

Richmond has consistently proven to be a favorable venue for the former Cup Series champion. However, this weekend, NASCAR has introduced the option for drivers to choose different types of tires, adding an element of intrigue to the race. This strategic gamble could make the competition even more captivating. While many drivers are excited about the potential strategic battles that may unfold, Logano shares a similar sentiment. He recalls a previous instance when NASCAR implemented option tires and asserts that there were no disadvantages to using them. Nevertheless, due to the high tire degradation on the sub-one mile racetrack, this time around could present a different challenge.

Despite the intricacies and uncertainties surrounding the race, Logano remains focused on his ultimate goal of winning the championship this year. He is prepared to face the challenges of the playoffs and reclaim the top position he once held.
