Joey Logano has not yet achieved a top-5 finish in the 2024 NASCAR Cup season. The start of the season for Team Penske Racing has been tumultuous and disappointing. Logano, a two-time Cup champion, entered this year seeking redemption for a weak title defense in 2023. However, after four races, bad luck has prevented him from getting off to a good start.
Logano recently admitted that this is the worst start to a year he has ever had. He assessed his performance at each track and acknowledged that his races at the Superspeedways were disappointing. Even his ninth-place finish in Vegas was considered mediocre.
Although Logano’s struggles cannot be solely attributed to the car or bad luck, as his teammate and current champion is leading the championship, he recognizes that he needs to step up his game and perform well on the track to have a successful season in 2024.
Logano mentioned that, although the team has not yet identified the main problems behind his difficulties, they are actively working on it. With a championship team, he believes they are capable of overcoming these challenges and are committed to putting in the effort.
Looking ahead to the next race in Bristol, where Logano last won in 2022, he remains hopeful. The race that takes place on concrete and Ford’s strong performance in Bristol in the second race last year provide him with some optimism.
