Joey Logano expressed concern about the current state of Team No:22. Team Penske Racing, after winning the first Cup championship in the Next-Gen era, is going through a challenging period. Logano has only won one race in the last two years and has not been consistently competitive as a driver of his caliber should be. This season, he has had one of the worst starts of his career.
As the regular season approaches the halfway point, Team No:22 Ford is currently outside the playoff positions in the points standings and has shown no signs of contending for wins. Logano is currently in P17 in the points standings, behind the driver in P16. However, the team has recently shown some improvement, giving Logano confidence that they are not in a desperate situation.
Logano acknowledged that the season has not unfolded as he had anticipated and that he has not accumulated the points he desired. However, he believes that he and his team can make up the points deficit in the near future. He maintains a positive outlook for the upcoming races in Charlotte, Gateway, Sonoma, and Iowa, as changes made at certain tracks and their characteristics provide him with some hope.
Team No:22 has a prime opportunity to gain momentum during the All Star race weekend in North Wilkesboro. Logano will start on the pole position, giving him the best chance to win $1 million and establish much-needed positive momentum for the entire Team Penske garage.
