Bubba Wallace and John Hunter Nemechek have had a less than stellar start to their seasons, but their off-track relationship remains strong.
In a recent fun interaction, the Legacy Motor Club driver was referred to as the funniest driver on the NASCAR ladder. Both drivers are affiliated with Toyota, with Nemechek getting a second chance in the Cup Series through Jimmie Johnson’s LMC.
Wallace and the 26-year-old driver are close friends off the track due to their frequent interaction at TRD. They have been seen together on several occasions, including their partnership as allies in the 6 hours of Daytona.
Nemechek had an exceptional season in 2023, dominating the Xfinity series with seven wins and 24 top-ten finishes, earning him a spot in the Cup series this year. He aims to continue his impressive form.
On the other hand, Wallace is the only black driver in the main series. Despite this, the 30-year-old driver has achieved some success, finishing on the podium in Texas and making it to the playoffs last year. He has high hopes for 2024.
Unfortunately, the Alabama native has not yet made it to the podium this season. Despite this, he has shown flashes of his talent, finishing in the top five twice since the start of the season. One of these races had an exciting finish with a winning margin of 0.003 seconds.
However, Wallace is still in contention for top positions, as his previous performances have shown his speed and skill on the track. Fans and experts will be keeping an eye on him, hoping he can surpass his achievements from the previous season.
