Jean Todt: ‘Michael Schumacher já não é o que conhecemos; a vida dele é diferente’

It has been ten years since Michael Schumacher’s serious skiing accident on Friday. In the last decade, information about his condition has always been scarce, knowing little more than the fact that he is still alive – it is unknown to what degree he depends on other people.

Jean Todt, who worked alongside the German during Ferrari’s golden era, told L’Equipe newspaper that Schumacher is different from what he was, but is well taken care of and still very much alive:

– Michael is here, so we haven’t lost him. But he is simply not the Michael he used to be. He is different and is wonderfully guided by his wife and children who protect him. His life is now different and I have the privilege of sharing moments with him. That’s all there is to say. Unfortunately, fate struck him ten years ago. He is no longer the Michael we knew in Formula 1′.
