Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) announced that it will resume its production operations, following the cyberattack it suffered in the beginning of September.
The announcement from JLR came after the British government announced that it is ready to rescue the company and its suppliers with a $2 billion guarantee.
The British company has three factories in the UK, producing a total of about 1,000 vehicles per day. According to the “BBC“, JLR is losing about $68 million due to the production halt, with many of its 33,000 employees having to stay home.
Last week, JLR informed suppliers that some online systems were already operational, including those that control the global supply of parts and the financial system that manages vehicle sales.
It is worth noting that JLR is the latest victim of a series of cyberattacks on British companies that have occurred since the beginning of the year, especially in the retail sector.
The incident occurred in early September, just weeks after JLR announced a significant reduction in quarterly profits due to tariffs imposed by the US on vehicles imported from the UK.
