Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), owned by Tata Motors, has alerted its customers in the U.S. about the need to fix a defect in the suspension joints of 121,500 vehicles.
According to “Reuters,” the information was provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) this Wednesday, and the defect affects the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models.
According to the NHTSA, the aluminum joints of the front suspension, which connect the front wheels to critical components such as the braking system assembly, may crack, potentially increasing the risk of collision.
It is worth noting that the NHTSA initiated a preliminary evaluation in June of 91,856 JLR vehicles due to fractured steering joints. The investigation focused on the 2014 to 2017 Range Rover Sport models produced by Jaguar Land Rover North America, and aimed to assess the extent, severity, and cause of the defect.
