Jaguar is reorganizing its range and the British brand seems determined to eliminate models with low sales from its portfolio.
According to “Automotive News Europe”, which quotes words from the brand’s CEO, Adrian Mardell, to investors, the end of the line for the five models in question aims to eliminate the impact that low sales have on financial results and at the same time prepare for the transition to electric production.
In this way, the XE, XF, F-Type, E-Pace, and I-Pace models are at the end of their careers and will cease production later this year. The F-Pace SUV will be the only Jaguar to remain in production in the current range of the brand, as it represents about a third of the brand’s sales.
“We are eliminating five products, all of lower value. None of them are vehicles that we make a profit from, so we will replace these models with new vehicles,” emphasized Adrian Mardell.
It should be noted that Jaguar is preparing to become a 100% electric luxury brand, and in this sense, it is planned to launch its first fully electric next-generation model based on the Jaguar Electrified Architecture (JAE) platform in 2025.
Still this year, Jaguar intends to present the prototype of the future model in the US, one of the main markets of the British brand.
