Jack Doohan reveals terrifying death threats that forced armed security in F1 paddock – “they’re going to kill me here if I’m not out of the car”

F1 STAR JACK DOOHAN FACES DEATH THREATS: “I WAS ESCORTED BY ARMED GUARDS!”

In a shocking revelation that has sent shockwaves through the motorsport world, former Formula 1 driver Jack Doohan has disclosed the horrifying death threats he received that forced him to travel with armed security. This chilling tale unfolds as the much-anticipated Season 8 of Netflix's docu-series “Drive to Survive” hits screens, revealing never-before-heard accounts from the high-octane world of Formula 1.

The drama surrounding Doohan is palpable, especially after his abrupt dismissal from Alpine's driver lineup after only six races. The 2025 season saw the Aussie ace replaced by Argentina's Franco Colapinto, leaving fans and insiders alike questioning the team's controversial decisions. In a riveting episode titled “Strictly Business,” viewers are given a glimpse into the chaotic leadership of Flavio Briatore at Alpine and the subsequent fallout that led to Doohan's shocking exit.

In a heart-wrenching account, Doohan recounted the grim threats he received ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, which were so severe that he felt compelled to ramp up his security measures. “I got serious death threats for the Miami Grand Prix, saying they’re going to kill me here if I’m not out of the car,” he disclosed. The stakes were alarmingly high, with the driver revealing he received six or seven emails threatening brutal violence: “If I am still in the car by Miami, all my limbs will be cut off.”

The gravity of the situation escalated to the point where Doohan was accompanied by three armed guards while he was with his girlfriend and trainer. “I had to call my police escort to come and get it under control,” he said, illustrating the sheer terror he faced in a place that should have been a sanctuary for a racing driver.

The emotional toll of these threats was profound for Doohan, who expressed his dismay at having to navigate such fear while pursuing his lifelong dream. “I wasn’t able to enjoy being a Formula 1 driver, something I dreamt of for so long. So yeah, it’s pretty s***,” he lamented.

After parting ways with Alpine earlier this year, Doohan's future in racing remains uncertain, especially as plans for a Super Formula campaign have since fallen through. This follows a dismal rookie test where he unfortunately crashed three times in three days at the same corner, further complicating his racing aspirations.

As the motorsport community digests this unsettling news, one thing is clear: the pressure and peril in the world of Formula 1 can extend far beyond the racetrack, with drivers like Jack Doohan facing unimaginable threats in their pursuit of glory. Stay tuned as this story continues to develop, and the implications of such shocking events ripple through the fast-paced world of Formula 1.
