Jack Doohan makes thrilling leap to Haas as reserve driver for 2026 F1 season

Haas F1 Team Makes Bold Move: Jack Doohan Joins as Reserve Driver for 2026 Season!

In a surprising twist in the high-octane world of Formula 1, Haas F1 Team has snatched up former Alpine driver Jack Doohan as their new reserve driver for the upcoming 2026 season. This strategic signing not only adds depth to Haas’s lineup but also marks a significant new chapter in Doohan’s racing career.

The 23-year-old Australian proved his mettle in the competitive F1 arena, having made his debut with Alpine at the tail end of the 2024 season. Doohan showcased his talent across the opening six rounds of the 2025 season, quickly establishing himself as a driver to watch. However, his trajectory took a sharp turn after the Miami Grand Prix when he was replaced by Franco Colapinto. Despite this setback, Doohan remained a valued member of the Alpine team until the recent announcement of his departure, which set the stage for his thrilling transition to Haas.

Expressing his excitement, Doohan stated, “I’m thrilled to be joining TGR Haas F1 Team. It’s the ideal place to continue my Formula 1 career.” His enthusiasm is palpable as he prepares to tackle the challenges that the 2026 season will undoubtedly bring. “I would like to thank the team for giving me the opportunity to grow and take on the great challenge of 2026 together,” he added, signaling his readiness to make a significant impact.

Joining Doohan at Haas is Ryo Hirakawa, further solidifying the team’s reserve driver roster. This partnership gives Haas a solid backup plan should their primary drivers, Esteban Ocon or Oliver Bearman, find themselves unable to compete. With the stakes higher than ever in Formula 1, having a reliable reserve driver can make all the difference in a team’s championship aspirations.

As the anticipation builds for the 2026 campaign, all eyes will be on Haas to see how this bold move pays off. Will Jack Doohan rise to the occasion and become a crucial asset in their quest for success? One thing is for sure: the racing world will be watching closely as Haas gears up for what promises to be an exhilarating season ahead!
