Fiat and Citroën, two brands that operate under the ownership of the Stellantis consortium, have more in common: the new Topolino is the Italian ‘twin’ of the French electric Ami.
Technically, the Fiat is nothing more than a redesigned version of the quadricycle marketed with the ‘double chevron’ emblem, equipped with the same 8 hp electric motor powered by a 5.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, which allows for up to 70 km of range without any exhaust emissions. The new electric vehicle can be driven by individuals over 16 years old (thus, without a B driver’s license) and ‘resurrects’ the famous denomination used by the Italian brand in the original 500, produced between 1936 and 1955.
“The new Topolino perfectly embodies the ‘dolce vita’ of Fiat and the Italian spirit. As a vehicle capable of producing smiles, it brings a new idea of joy, optimism, and fun to the streets of cities. The quadricycle is presented as a new electric mobility device, designed for a wide audience, including young customers, families, and city lovers,” reads a statement released by the Italian brand.
