Isuzu D-Max recebe novo motor Diesel com tecnologia híbrida

Isuzu continues to work on launching an all-electric version of the well-known D-Max pickup. While the 100% electric variant is still on the way, the brand has released a new variant in Thailand equipped with a new Diesel engine featuring 48v hybrid technology.

This is a 2.2-liter engine that produces 161 hp and a torque of 400 Nm. Isuzu claims that the engine is quieter, features improved combustion, and has a variable turbocharger. However, details about the electric motor and battery of the 48V system have not been disclosed.

The 2.2 Ddi MaxForce engine, which also serves the MU-X SUV in the Thai market, is paired with a new eight-speed automatic torque converter, contributing to performance and efficiency gains.

Additionally, according to Isuzu, the 48V hybrid system provides 56% more torque at startup and improves fuel economy by 10% compared to the non-electrified diesel variant.

Isuzu has not revealed whether this new variant of the D-Max equipped with a Diesel engine and hybrid technology will be coming to other markets in the near future.

However, it is already known that the brand is preparing a 100% electric version of the D-Max, which is expected to hit the market in 2025.
