Isack Hadjar: The Perfect Fit for Red Bull’s Second Seat Next to Max Verstappen?

Red Bull’s quest for a competitive second driver alongside Max Verstappen has been a rollercoaster ride filled with disappointments and underwhelming performances. The recent struggles of Yuki Tsunoda have once again sparked discussions about who could potentially fill the much-coveted seat next to the Dutch superstar.

Tsunoda’s lackluster performances, including being lapped by Verstappen at the Spanish Grand Prix, have raised concerns about his ability to support the team’s championship ambitions adequately. With only seven points to his name since replacing Liam Lawson, the pressure is mounting on Red Bull to find a driver who can deliver consistent results.

Enter Isack Hadjar, the rising star from Racing Bulls, who has been turning heads with his impressive performances in his rookie season. With strong showings in Monaco and Spain, including a sixth and seventh-place finish, Hadjar has proven that he has the talent and potential to thrive in the competitive world of Formula 1.

Hadjar’s driving style, described as aggressive and reminiscent of Verstappen’s approach, has led many to believe that he could be the perfect candidate to partner with the reigning world champion. Having tested the 2024 Red Bull car and found it “comfortable” to handle, Hadjar seems well-suited to adapt to the intricacies of Red Bull’s machinery.

While Red Bull has shown no immediate signs of replacing Tsunoda, the ongoing struggles of their second driver have raised questions about the team’s overall approach to car design and driver compatibility. With Verstappen widely regarded as one of the premier drivers on the grid, finding a suitable teammate has proven to be a daunting task for the team.

Despite the challenges and uncertainties surrounding Red Bull’s second seat, the potential partnership between Hadjar and Verstappen offers a glimmer of hope for a more harmonious and successful collaboration. As the 2025 Formula 1 season unfolds, all eyes will be on Red Bull to see if they will make the bold move of pairing Hadjar with their star driver, paving the way for a new era of dominance in the sport.
