Isack Hadjar’s Shocking Confession: Unleashing Fiery F2 Past in F1 Silence
Young Racing Bulls driver Isack Hadjar has left the F2 fiery moments behind, but he recently dropped a bombshell confession about his behavior on the team radio. The French-Algerian driver admitted to still being “shouting and insulting” inside the cockpit but has chosen to keep it silent by not pressing the radio button during races.
Despite concerns about his temperament following his Formula 2 performances, Hadjar has managed to maintain his composure in his rookie Formula 1 season. The 20-year-old driver revealed to the media that although he has the same fiery character, he has found a way to restrain himself from expressing it over the radio.
In a surprising turn of events, Hadjar shared, “I’ve said it before. I’m still shouting and insulting, but I just don’t press the radio. So no one knows. I’m still – I have the same character, it’s not something you can erase. And yeah, I just don’t press the radio button. Very easy.”
Moreover, Hadjar opened up about his emotional management both on and off the track, emphasizing his focus on self-improvement. “As I said, inside the car, I made progress with my thumb, but… Out of it, I think I’ve never been, you know, that kind of driver that gets out of the car and throws things at anyone. I’m mad at myself. So I think so far you’ve seen a cool driver, and that’s all.”
Despite his fiery nature, Hadjar’s performance on the track has been impressive, with him currently sitting in ninth place in the drivers’ standings after nine races, boasting 21 points. This places him as the second-highest rookie driver on the grid, drawing attention from both the paddock and Red Bull motorsport advisor Dr. Helmut Marko.
Dr. Marko has labeled Hadjar as “the most impressive rookie,” praising his quick adaptation to new circuits and competitive edge. “He comes to a circuit which he doesn’t know, and within three laps, he is competitive. He’s a regular Q3 qualifier. And it comes very natural. He also proved, in his personality – I heard some of his interviews, which were really funny – and also showing a lot of sense of humour, also about himself. He can laugh.”
Isack Hadjar’s journey in Formula 1 is one filled with both talent and temperament, as he strives to make a mark on the sport while taming his fiery instincts. His ability to balance aggression with composure makes him a driver to watch as he navigates the challenges of the elite racing world.
