Is Isack Hadjar the Future Star of Red Bull F1? Helmut Marko Hints at 2026 Promotion!

Is Isack Hadjar the Next Big Thing for Red Bull? Helmut Marko Thinks So!

In a thrilling turn of events at the Dutch Grand Prix, Isack Hadjar emerged not just as a competitor, but as a serious contender, clinching his first podium finish in a spectacular display of skill and composure. While Oscar Piastri had his moments in the Formula 1 spotlight, it was Hadjar who captured the attention of fans and pundits alike, securing a remarkable fourth position on the grid before racing his way to a top-three finish.

The Racing Bulls rookie demonstrated nerves of steel, especially when faced with fierce competition from heavyweights like George Russell and Charles Leclerc. “He had to fight pretty hard for it, you know,” stated Red Bull’s motorsport advisor Helmut Marko, highlighting the intensity of the race. “Russell attacked him several times. And the other driver was Leclerc. They really tried, but he stayed calm. He didn’t do anything wrong. So, yeah, there’s a good one coming.”

Marko’s words are not just praise; they’re a hint at Hadjar’s potential ascent into the Red Bull Racing team in the near future. The phrase “there’s a good one coming” ignites speculation about whether this young talent is ready to take on the monumental challenge of performing alongside Max Verstappen, who has historically overshadowed his teammates. Yet, Marko remains optimistic, stating, “But Isack is different,” when asked about Hadjar’s ability to handle the pressure of a second seat at Red Bull.

Hadjar’s resilience was on full display throughout the weekend. Despite suffering engine issues that caused him to miss crucial practice sessions, he remained unphased, exuding confidence with a promise: “I have the speed, I will qualify in the top five.” He delivered on that promise, starting in an impressive position and ultimately finishing strong.

While the Red Bull hierarchy is clearly impressed, they are not rushing into decisions regarding the 2026 driver lineup. Marko has indicated a wait-and-see approach, with the Mexican Grand Prix in October serving as a critical milestone for evaluating the situation. Meanwhile, Yuki Tsunoda, currently in the mix, has been given a clear ultimatum: deliver consistency and speed in the weeks to come.

Tsunoda faced his own challenges in Zandvoort, where despite having the same RB21 specification as Verstappen, he fell short of making it into Q3 and finished in P9. Marko, however, showed some grace, attributing Tsunoda’s struggles to bad luck with a safety car that disrupted his race strategy.

As the dust settles on the Dutch Grand Prix, all eyes now look toward the future of Red Bull Racing. Will Isack Hadjar ascend to the ranks of F1’s elite alongside Verstappen? The next few races will prove crucial in shaping the trajectory of his budding career. One thing is for certain: the F1 world will be watching closely as this young driver continues to make waves on the track.
