The German tuner Irmscher, which has been building special vehicles and models for over 55 years, has now decided to create a more muscular version of the Opel Astra, inspired by competition design.
The company claims that this more appealing version of the Astra IRC was inspired by the World Rally Championship, although the model has characteristics of a touring sports car, more suited for the tracks.
Aesthetically, this Astra IRC features significantly wider front and rear fenders with integrated ventilation openings, covering the 20-inch Hydra Star alloy wheels.
In addition, the front section features a redesigned bumper with generous air intakes and a large splitter. On the other hand, the rear end features a wide diffuser that incorporates the exhaust tips. However, the biggest highlight of the rear section is the massive rear wing.
Irmscher has not disclosed any changes made to the chassis, however, it is noticeable that this more radical version of the Astra is equipped with lowered springs.
As for power, the company aims to equip this Astra IRC with 260 hp, which puts this model close to the updated VW Golf GTI, and for that, it plans to make some changes to the combustion engine.
The German tuner has not yet decided whether to produce a small series of this muscular Astra IRC.
