Interessado no Ferrari F50 de Rod Stewart? Está à venda, mas não vá em cantigas

The classic Ferrari that belonged to the Rock star is going up for auction with 16,000 kilometers on the odometer. But it has already traveled halfway around the world! And even though the name Rod Stewart may not be crucial to the Ferrari universe, as the British star has made an impact on a generation, it may be enough to inflate any car that goes up for auction. This is not the case with this Ferrari F50, which carries an iconic status on its own.

Launched in 1995, to succeed the legendary F40, the Ferrari F50 ended up never having the same legendary status as its predecessor, the last one released under the leadership of Enzo Ferrari. However, the F50 is starting to gain recognition from collectors as one of the most important supercars of the “analog era,” with its naturally aspirated 4.7-V12 engine derived from racing.

One of only 349 produced, this one seen in the images was registered in the United Kingdom in June 1997, in the name of Rod Stewart. The musician was often photographed behind the wheel of this Cavallino, which he drove for 5467 kilometers before selling it to a resident in Dubai.

This new owner, now in the United Arab Emirates, decided to change the car’s paint from red to… dark gray, also replacing the original Pelle Nera upholstery. In 2007, the F50 returns to the United Kingdom with another owner to be delivered to the Zanasi Group workshops, where it undergoes a restoration process according to the original specifications. The work was approved with the Classiche certification, guaranteeing factory condition.

Between continents, different settings and records, the Ferrari F50 that belonged to Rod Stewart has traveled halfway around the world, currently having seven owners! A resume that doesn’t prevent the somewhat inflated estimate from Collecting Cars, which believes that the Italian classic could be sold for an amount around 2.8 million euros, in the auction scheduled for November 11th.
