Greetings from Albert Park Circuit, where we’re gearing up for the Free Practice 2 of the F1 2025 Australian GP. This premier motor sporting event has once again attracted the top echelons of the motorsport world, as the teams fine-tune their car setups for the inaugural race of the Formula 1 season.

McLaren rolled onto the track as the favorites this weekend, setting the stage for a high-stakes challenge for their competitors – Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes. The first day of action has already kickstarted with a flurry of intrigues and narratives leading up to the first race of the F1 2025 season.

Earlier today, McLaren’s Lando Norris set the tone by clocking the fastest time in the first free practice (FP1). Trailing just behind him was Carlos Sainz, the fresh face at Williams. The first practice session was not without its share of drama, with Oliver Bearman triggering a red flag and George Russell making an unscheduled visit to the barriers.

Stay with us as we bring you live updates from Free Practice 2 of the F1 2025 Australian GP. We promise to deliver an in-depth look into the teams’ strategies, reliability issues, and potential leaders as the events at Albert Park unfold.

As for the FP1 results, Norris led the pack for McLaren, setting the bar high for the competition.

For our American audience, coverage of Free Practice 2 will be broadcasted live on ESPN2, with streaming options available on ESPN+. In the UK, Sky Sports F1 is your go-to channel for all the sessions, including FP2. Australian fans can tune into Fox Sports, Kayo Sports, and Foxtel to catch all the action live.

As for the timings, Free Practice 2 is set to commence at 4:00pm local time on Friday in Melbourne, Australia. For our UK fans, that translates to a bright and early start at 5:00am on Friday morning. Meanwhile, in the USA, the FP2 session begins at 1:00am ET, or 10:00pm PT on Thursday evening.
