Ineos Automotive is recalling over 7,000 vehicles in the US and Canada after customers reported that the doors of the Grenadier SUV open while driving.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the British brand has announced that it will replace the door button mechanisms in all Grenadier vehicles manufactured before April 19, 2024, at no cost to customers. Meanwhile, Transport Canada has published a similar alert on its website, stating that there are 452 affected vehicles in that country.
According to the company, which has over 20,000 vehicles on the road, the affected parts were poorly assembled, causing the external buttons on some vehicles to jam and make the doors open while the vehicle is in motion.

“Safety is our top priority, and we are conducting a campaign to replace all door mechanisms in all affected vehicles as quickly as possible”, said an Ineos spokesperson in a statement.
