After the Grenadier and the Quartermaster pickup variant, Ineos Automotive was preparing to launch a 100% electric version of its 4×4 SUV, the Ineos Fusilier.
However, the British brand has now revealed that the electric model will be delayed due to the decline in demand for 100% electric models and the uncertainty surrounding the customs tariffs that may be applied to electric models.
According to “AutomotiveNews Europe,” production of the Fusilier, a smaller model than the Grenadier 4×4 that hit the market in 2023, was scheduled to start in 2027.
In addition to the 100% electric version of the Fusilier, the brand also planned to introduce an extended range variant, meaning hybrid, equipped with a small gasoline engine capable of preserving the battery charge level in case a charging source is not available.
It should be noted that Ineos Automotive has already announced that it plans to develop the model with Magna International, and that the new SUV will be built by Magna Steyr in Austria.
