President of Motor Corporation and Master Driver, Morizo signs the sportiest version of the new Lexus LBX, with the 305 hp engine from the GR Corolla.
Playing at home, the Toyota Group is very well represented in another edition of the lively Tokyo Motor Show, which features the Lexus brand among the headliners. And the prestigious division of Toyota has already started revealing surprises, with the world premiere of this LBX RR Morizo Concept, the sportiest vision of the company’s smallest and newest SUV.
As the name suggests, it is a very special version with the stamp of Akio Toyota, the president of Toyota and Master Driver, also known as Morizo, which means that it has received a distinctly racing treatment, starting with the special paint on the bodywork, in an intense and shiny metallic gray, which contrasts with the glossy black applications and the yellow present on the front strip of the hood. The alloy wheels are 19 inches and mount 235/45 tires.
Lexus did not show the interior of the LBX RR Morizo Concept, but guarantees the same sporty style and the presence of elements such as sports seats and aluminum pedals.
However, the biggest highlight is under the hood, in the G16E-GTS unit, the 1.6 turbo three-cylinder gasoline engine that equips the GR Yaris, but in the variant used in the GR Corolla, with power “stretched” to 305 hp (at 6500 rpm) and delivering 370 Nm of torque, which reaches the asphalt through the “E-Four” all-wheel drive and an “Direct Shift” eight-speed automatic transmission.
