Ian Callum lança marca própria com espetacular buggy elétrico

Ian Callum announced his retirement from the automotive industry in 2019, leaving his position as Design Director at Jaguar after twenty years with the British brand, where he designed cars such as the E-Type, the F-Type sports car, the XJ, and the I-Pace. The decision did not mark the definitive end of a career that included successful stints at Ford and later at TWR Design, where he was responsible for the Aston Martin DB7, Vanquish, and DB9 models.

Ian Callum has since decided to start his own business project and now presents his first car. It’s called Skye, a spectacular buggy measuring four meters in length, offering seating for four occupants (2+2). The model, clearly designed for off-road use, features a spaceframe chassis with independent suspensions and is equipped with two electric motors, one for each axle, powered by a 42 kWh battery, boasting a range of up to 274 km. The limited range is compensated by the ability to receive ultra-fast charging in less than 10 minutes.

The lightweight design (1150 kg, distributed in a 50:50 ratio) allows for very interesting performances. The brand announces an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in less than 4.0 seconds. Production will be limited to 50 units, with prices starting at €115,000.
