Hyundai has revealed the first details about the new Ioniq 9, a fully electric SUV with three rows of seats that marks a new direction in the brand’s unwavering commitment to electrification.
The teaser released previews the “Aerosthetic” design of the Ioniq 9, which is a unique blend of aerodynamic performance and aesthetic appeal, inspired by Hyundai from the sleek exteriors and spacious, welcoming interiors of boats. Hyundai also claims that the diagonal lines cutting across the body are inspired by the Hanbok, a traditional Korean garment.
Thus, the revealed images suggest that the Ioniq 9 will feature a front section equipped with a full-width LED light bar with Hyundai’s attractive “Parametric Pixels” design, similar to that used in the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models.
The curved roof, combined with an extended wheelbase, ensures ample space for all passengers, including those in the third row. The images also reveal intricate details that enhance the overall design quality of the Ioniq 9, highlighting the multi-spoke wheel design aligned with the dynamic nature and elegance that the new Ioniq 9 promises.
It is already known that the new Ioniq 9 will be based on the E-GMP platform, and it is expected that the new SUV will feature the same electric motors and batteries used in the Kia EV9.
