Hyundai Motor Company has reached a historic milestone by marking a cumulative global production of 100 million units. This achievement was accomplished in just 57 years since the company’s founding, making it one of the fastest in the global automotive industry.
To celebrate this achievement, Hyundai held a ceremony at its production facility in Ulsan, South Korea, where it delivered its one hundred millionth and first vehicle, an Ioniq 5, directly to a customer. The vehicle rolled off the final inspection conveyor at the shipping center of the Ulsan factory during a special delivery ceremony.
“Reaching a cumulative global production of 100 million vehicles is a significant milestone made possible by our customers around the world who have chosen and supported Hyundai Motor since the beginning,” said Jaehoon Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company.
“Taking bold challenges and being in constant pursuit of innovation has allowed us to achieve rapid growth and will enable us to take ‘a step forward’ towards another 100 million units as a game changer in mobility.”
