Hyundai apresenta camião a hidrogénio com nível 4 de condução autónoma

The heavy-duty truck produced by Hyundai in collaboration with software company Plus, the XCIENT Fuel Cell, is an electric model with a fuel cell, powered by two 90kW hydrogen fuel cell systems and a 350kW electric motor, providing a range of over 725 km even when fully loaded.

This unit is equipped with Level 4 Plus SuperDriveTM autonomous driving technology, a system that uses a combination of sensors, including LiDAR, radar, and cameras, to provide environmental perception, planning, prediction, and driverless driving capabilities.

The new XCIENT Fuel Cell truck will now undergo initial autonomous driving evaluations in the US, marking the first Level 4 autonomous driving test conducted on a Class 8 hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty vehicle in the United States of America.

“We are excited about our collaboration with Plus and ready to test Level 4 autonomous driving technology with our truck. Hyundai Motor has been leading the energy transition with our advanced fuel cell technologies. By adding autonomous capabilities to our XCIENT Fuel Cell truck, the world’s first mass-produced hydrogen-powered truck, Hyundai is eager to provide fleets and vehicle operators with additional solutions that enhance road safety and cargo transportation efficiency, thanks to Plus’ industry-leading autonomous driving technology.”, emphasized Martin Zeilinger, Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Vehicle Development at Hyundai Motor.
