Hyundai quer mostrar como o Ioniq 5 N pode despertar entusiasmo nos condutores

Hyundai has just announced the arrival of the Ioniq 5 N to the national market, the first high-performance electric production vehicle from the sport division of the South Korean manufacturer, as well as the first production vehicle from the N sub-brand with fully electric all-wheel drive.

The sporty model is equipped with an 84.0 kWh next-generation battery, which powers two electric motors capable of delivering a power of 609 hp and a torque of 740 Nm. These numbers can increase to an impressive 650 hp and 770 Nm of maximum torque with the NGB overboost function activated. The next-generation battery provides a range of 448 kilometers in WLTP cycle.

The Ioniq 5 N announces an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a maximum speed of 260 km/h. The power transmitted to the four steering wheels can be adjusted up to 11 levels, supported by an electronically controlled rear limited-slip differential.

The high-performance braking system includes large brake discs with, respectively, 400 mm with four-piston calipers and 360 mm in diameter at the front and rear.

Recognizing the desire for improved feedback in electric vehicles, Hyundai N engineers have developed N e-Shift which emulates the behavior of an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) found in N internal combustion models, providing a sense of control over power delivery. Drivers can thus choose between manual and automatic shifts. Like the N DCT in manual transmission mode, N e-Shift has a firm rev limiter.

On the other hand, the N Active Sound+ system introduces three distinct sounds – “Ignition”, which simulates the sound of an N combustion engine vehicle’s engine and exhaust, “Evolution”, inspired by Hyundai’s N EV prototype, and “Supersonic”, reminiscent of combat jets. N Active Sound+ constantly remixes the sound based on speed and throttle position, ensuring a dynamic and reactive auditory experience.

The sound of gear shifts is intrinsically linked to the N e-Shift mode, creating an integration of simulated engine sounds. This auditory experience provides drivers with an acoustic reference to evaluate the power being used. The system includes eight internal Bose Premium Sound speakers and two external speakers, with adjustable volume.

The Ioniq 5 N features a dynamic design, with a unique front bumper equipped with a functional mesh, air curtains, and active front air flaps that work together to improve aerodynamics.

The rear is marked by an upper wing, as well as a generous diffuser and air outlets that enhance the sporty image and improve aerodynamics.

The new bumper design has increased the size of the Ioniq 5 N, which now has a length of 4.72 meters and a width of 1.94 meters. The sporty image of this 100% electric model is reinforced by the high-performance Pirelli P Zero 275/35R21 tires mounted on 21’’ forged wheels.

The interior reinforces the sporty image of this N family model with the application of specific elements, including the N steering wheel with buttons that define the desired driving mode, organized according to the driver’s preferences, along with sport seats that have a lower position, and metallic pedals optimized for track driving.

The central console of the Ioniq 5 N is also optimized for track driving, with knee pads and shin support, as well as a sliding armrest.

Hyundai has revealed that the new Ioniq 5 N, in the Performance Pack variant, is available for delivery in the national market still in this month of March, with a price starting at €79,900.
