Hyundai apresenta o Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup

Hyundai has revealed the Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup, a variant of the 100% electric crossover designed for competition.

The Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup uses the same powertrain as the production model, featuring the E-GMP platform with 800V architecture and an 84 kWh battery that can be charged from 10 to 80% in 18 minutes.

The powertrain system features two electric motors, one on each axle, delivering a combined power of 650 hp.

The Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup also features a redesigned body. It has lower and wider fenders, wider wheel arches for improved maneuverability, increased downforce from the front lips and rear wings, and better aerodynamic performance. It is also lighter, as unnecessary components have been removed to reduce the weight of the competition car by around 270 kg compared to the production model, achieved through the use of an FRP hood and polycarbonate windows.

Furthermore, the shock absorbers have two adjustment levels, which can have the camber adjusted and the ground clearance changed. The braking system is equipped with forged six-piston calipers at the front and four at the rear, hidden in 18’’ forged wheels.

To reinforce safety measures, the Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup is equipped with essential safety elements such as safety cells, integral bucket seats, and seat belts.

Furthermore, it is also equipped with extinguishers exclusively developed for electric fires, asphyxiation extinguishers, and a modified location of the charging port, ensuring the highest level of safety in electric vehicle races.

Hyundai has already announced that the new “N” competition model will be unveiled on April 27th at the Hyundai N Festival at Inje Speedium in South Korea.
