Hyundai has announced that it is expanding its partnership with Google to provide cutting-edge navigation and infotainment experiences.
As a result, the South Korean brand will soon offer drivers of new Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis models access to up-to-date information from Google Maps about 250 million locations worldwide.
By integrating the Places Application Programming Interface from the Google Maps platform, Hyundai will enhance navigation accuracy, utilizing Google’s extensive information on various establishments, including new details on operating hours, contact information, ratings, reviews, and much more.
Additionally, the South Korean brand also announced that starting in 2026, it will launch a completely new infotainment system based on Google’s Android Automotive operating system to expand its software ecosystem. In doing so, Hyundai hopes to secure an innovative advantage in the technology space of software-defined vehicles and lead the future mobility market.
“The Hyundai Motor Group is developing technology in the field of software-defined vehicles and mobility to provide customer-focused values. Our partnership with Google, which helps people find a wealth of useful information worldwide, will serve as an opportunity for the Hyundai Motor Group, expanding our technology coverage in the mobility market and providing greater value to customers.”, said Chang Song, president and head of the Advanced Vehicle Platform Division (AVP) of Hyundai Motor Group.
